You hate to see it. AEW star Kenny Omega announced on social media today that he is stepping away from the ring for an indeterminant amount of time.
He had the following to say on X/Twitter:
I can’t really sugar coat this. I’m out indefinitely. I tried to keep pushing past the pain for as long as I could until it became too much. Luckily doctors caught me when they did. I’ll be here so in the mean time, please enjoy wrestling!

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Omega had been ill throughout the last week, and sought medical attention after his recent match with Ethan Page. He was hospitalized and diagnosed with diverticulitis.
We're told Kenny had been ill throughout the last week, even ahead of his match with Ethan Page.
He still did the match and the promos, and sought medical attention after, where he was hospitalized and diagnosed with diverticulitis.
Get well soon to Kenny. https://t.co/CUEBOh7iso

Omega was last seen on AEW television this past week on Dynamite, where he and Chris Jericho were in a promo battle with Ricky Starks and Big Bill.
Editor’s Opinion:
You never want anybody to get injured, and this is certainly the case here. Whatever our personal feelings are about a professional wrestling company, nobody should ever be happy when somebody is injured. We certainly wish all the best to Kenny Omega, and hope that he is back on his feet and fully recovered soon!
