Despite declaring bankruptcy in 2001, Extreme Championship Wrestling has a legacy that will last until the end of time.
In 2004, World Wrestling Entertainment began to give ECW well-deserved credit by releasing a documentary titled The Rise and Fall of ECW.
WWE created a reunion pay-per-view in 2005 called ECW One Night Stand, which included over 20 ECW stars.
A year later, there was another promotion revival, which was followed by WWE’s launch of the ECW Brand.
The television station Sci Fi broadcasted ECW on Tuesday nights until 2010.
Later in 2010, the company Total Nonstop Action featured several ECW stars in the stable EV2.0, led by Mick Foley and Tommy Dreamer.
The run on TNA lasted until ECW’s Final Farewell: Hardcore Justice.
A significant number of events took place to commemorate Extreme Championship Wrestling, but the company’s legacy will last forever.
The fighting spirit displayed in ECW has continued to many other promotions, most notably Combat Zone Wrestling.
Also, some former ECW stars have established wrestling schools that solely focus on hardcore wrestling.
So no matter what happens in the future, Extreme Championship Wrestling will always have a legacy as never seen before.
