Last week, Rusev and Lana were directly responsible for breaking kayfabe when they went public with their engagement. Rusev posted on social media about the engagement. TMZ would break the story.

While WWE was apparently aware of the proposal and had begun shifting their creative direction behind closed doors, Vince McMahon was still not happy that the news of Rusev and Lana’s engagement had leaked to the public because it forced WWE to change their creative plans.

Rusev was the victim of a rather quick loss on Smackdown against Dolph Ziggler. Vince being upset with Rusev and how his real life engagement to Lana leaked out to the public may, or may not have to do with the quick loss. Many are questioning if Rusev will suffer backlash for how the situation was handled because it forced WWE to acknowledge it on television, and it directly affects WWE’s creative plans.

For what it’s worth, several sites are reporting that F4WOnline.com is saying Monday will be an “interesting” day for Rusev. This Monday night will be the real test to see how WWE books Rusev.
