Yesterday, Brad Maddox was released from WWE. The former General Manager of Raw hasn’t been featured as a priority on WWE television for quite some time. Maddox has been teaming with Adam Rose at WWE live events as the team “Beef Mode”.

Although, his release isn’t a surprise given he hasn’t had much momentum in WWE for awhile. However, there was a particular reason Maddox was released by WWE this week.

According to PWInsider.com, Maddox was released by WWE because of a comment he made during a promo earlier this week. During the promo in question, Maddox used the phrase, “cocky pricks”. The promo took place during Tuesday’s Smackdown tapings in Indianapolis.

The promo and match Maddox had afterwards with R-Truth in the dark match went as planned. It was the last from Maddox because his “cocky pricks” comment reportedly upset many within WWE corporate and the fallout lead to Maddox’s release from the company.

The actions taken against Maddox have made him an example of the line WWE talents must walk. It’s possible WWE has overreacted to a promo that won’t air on their programming. Unfortunately for Maddox, the comment was enough for WWE to make Maddox an example of what not to say in when given the chance to speak.
