At NXT Takeover: Dallas, Bayley lost the NXT Women’s Championship to Asuka after passing out to the “Asuka Lock.”

There was a lot of speculation about Bayley coming to the main roster after Wrestlemania 32, but all appears quiet on the western front, and it seems that “The Queen of Hug Style” will remain in NXT for the time being.

According to a recent rumor from Cagesideseats.com, there are no plans in place for Bayley to move up to the main roster anytime soon.

That’s not a bad thing considering that she has become a top face for the NXT brand and losing her would severely weaken NXT’s Women’s division. The only concern is her long-term booking.

Bayley is a rare character in WWE and is someone who specifically markets toward little girls who are wrestling fans. It’s not that WWE’s women don’t market to all women, but she represents a unique dynamic with the WWE Universe as a face that would transition very well on the main roster.

The real question is what does Bayley have left to do in NXT? She’s become the NXT Women’s Champion, had a very good title reign that just ended, and is one of two women to main event a WWE PPV event.

Obviously, she’ll have her rematch with Asuka at the next Takeover special. Hypothetically, Bayley may even win the title back and then set up a trilogy for Asuka vs. Bayley, but many people would be shocked if Bayley wasn’t a part of the main roster at some point this summer.

Do you want to see Bayley on the main roster by Summerslam?
