Paige hasn’t been featured a lot on WWE programming recently because of injuries and a lack of television time, but that hasn’t stopped the WWE Universe from wondering about her.

She was the first NXT Women’s Champion in NXT history and won the Divas Championship in her debut from AJ Lee.

She is also the only woman in wrestling history to be the NXT Women’s Champion and WWE Divas Champion at the same time. She was the anti-diva in NXT, and she’s come a long way since her days in WWE developmental.

However, some WWE fans have been critical of her character “abandoning” the anti-diva persona and seeing a drop in quality of her matches.

The following exchange occurred on Twitter between a critical fan and the former WWE Divas Champion:

There is no doubt that Paige’s on-screen character has changed a lot since her debut. That is to be expected though when you go from WWE developmental to WWE television.

It’s a shame to admit it sometimes, but WWE is a business, and a Diva of Paige’s caliber must be marketable for the mainstream audience and sponsors.

The anti-diva persona was phenomenal and got her over initially. Who’s to say that it wouldn’t have worked on the main roster, but Paige is a top Diva, and she’s very young. There is plenty of time for her to play with other personas over her career.

Do you think Paige should go back to being the anti-diva?
