NXT Takeover: Revenge Will See Austin Aries Face Shinsuke Nakamura

At NXT Takeover: Dallas, both Austin Aries and Shinsuke Nakamura made their in-ring debuts in NXT. Both men were successful as Aries defeated Baron Corbin and Nakamura beat Sami Zayn in the match of the night.

They’re both found success during their brief time in NXT so far, but the main roster call ups have left them without a feud. It seems that NXT creative’s way to fix that is for them to feud with each other.

During last night’s edition of NXT, Blake and Murphy faced Aries and a mystery opponent of his choosing. Of course, he chose The King of Strong Style and they went on to win the match over Blake and Murphy.

It’s being reported by Wrestling Observer Radio that the plan is for NXT Takeover: Revenge to feature Aries vs. Nakamura.

That match will be very good, but it’s unclear what will cause those two to feud. It could be a heel turn for Aries, or it could simply be the thrill of competition between NXT’s two newest superstars.

On paper, “The Greatest Man That Ever Lived” versus “The King of Strong Style” is a very fun match, but we’ll just have to wait to see how NXT builds the match over the next few weeks.
