More Details On Cody Rhodes Asking For Release, Eden & Goldust To Follow Him?

Yesterday, the surprising news broke that Cody Rhodes (Stardust) had asked WWE to be released from the company despite his father Dusty Rhodes being idolized by the company and both his brother Goldust and his wife Eden Stiles being employed with the company.

As of this writing, all we know is that Cody requested his release. It is not confirmed if that request has been granted, but it seems that he’s not the only one in the Rhodes family that could be on their way out.

According to a report from Wrestlezone.com, both Cody and Goldust left this week’s SmackDown television tapings early. The reasoning hasn’t been revealed, but it’s created a lot of speculation that Goldust may try to leave WWE as well.

Typically, that’s a no-no in most situations, but the details haven’t been revealed, so it’s possible that they left early had nothing to do with Cody asking for his release.

Stardust has been floating around the midcard for almost a year now without a clear direction of character, and Goldust has been used in a humorous manner in the “Golden Truth” tag team with R-Truth.

As for Eden Stiles, she’s still scheduled for “Extreme Rules” tonight. As of this writing, there are no rumblings of her potentially leaving the company with her husband.
