Roman Reigns has been the favorite to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship since the beginning. As most are aware, Reigns was originally planned to win the WWE Championship from Seth Rollins.

A few days ago, some news came out detailing the current plans for Roman Reigns. That report revealed that although Rollins injury has forced WWE to create the WWE Championship tournament, Reigns is still favored to win the WWE title on Sunday. However, some conflicting news has come to light today.

According to PWInsider, WWE’s creative team is pushing the idea of Dean Ambrose defeating Roman Reigns at “Survivor Series” in the finals and becoming the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

This news only reiterates what so many have been saying from the start. Whichever way WWE chooses to go, the current plan that might as well be written in stone is to have Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose in the finals.

That’s a great match-up. However, as long as the Ambrose vs. Reigns has been rumored, the possibility of Ambrose or Reigns turning heel has been rumored as well.

If the creative team has an idea that puts the WWE title on Ambrose, it just needs Vince McMahon’s approval to make The Lunatic Fringe the new WWE Champion on Sunday night.

Ultimately like everything else in WWE, Vince McMahon has the final call. We will see a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion at “Survivor Series”. We just have to wait for Sunday to finally find out who it will be.
