Kurt Angle Returning to Wrestling To Face Rey Mysterio

Well, that didn’t take long at all. After a huge “retirement tour” with TNA, Kurt Angle is returning to the ring much sooner than expected.

According to Wrestlinginc.com, Kurt Angle is set to wrestle Rey Mysterio at an event mixing boxing, grappling, MMA, and wrestling for a promotion called UR Fight.

Also being advertised on the card is former MMA and WWE star Ken Shamrock versus Dan Severn in an MMA style fight. Michael Bisping and Chael Sonnen are going to grapple. While Roy Jones Jr will be featured boxing with a fan.

For Kurt Angle, this is going to be his first match since his final matches in TNA. He recently made claims that he wants to take some time off from the ring. Since this is a one match deal, it doesn’t seem like a big deal, but one has to wonder if he meant his retirement at all.

TNA recently offered Kurt Angle a contract for a non-wrestling role with the company that he has yet to sign as of now. It’s not clear if he turned it down, or if he is simply weighing his options. A potential WWE return is always possible.
