A month ago, it was reported that Keith Lee had been signed by WWE. Unfortunately, nothing has been confirmed and wrestling fans have been left to speculate if the rumor is true. With NXT Takeover: Chicago next weekend, it’s possible for him to appear in the crowd during the event, which is how the brand usually debuts new superstars to NXT.

According to a report from the Wrestling Observer, Keith “Limitless” Lee is expected to begin training at the WWE Performance Center in July. As a result, it’s unlikely that he will make an appearance on NXT television until after NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 4. The NXT roster is stacked right now, so the idea of bringing in Keith Lee is very interesting.

He’s performed for Evolve, PWG, and several other promotions against some of the best independent wrestlers in the world. Many of them are currently signed by WWE. He’s been the WWN and the PWG World Championship. During WrestleMania Axxess, Keith Lee won a match against Kassius Ohno, which most likely secured him a WWE contract.

From a size standpoint, it’s fair to assume WWE officials would want to bring him onto NXT as a heel. There hasn’t been a monster heel on the brand with his experience since Samoa Joe. Most people are going to expect him to dominate NXT and he could be the one to take the NXT Championship from Aleister Black after Summerslam weekend.

Here’s a great match between Keith Lee and Ricochet:

If NXT officials choose to bring him in as a babyface, it would be a different dynamic to see. The NXT Universe will cheer almost any well-known performer from the indy scene until they’re given a reason to boo them. There’s no question that Keith Lee will have a great run for the brand. The question is how long do the fans have to wait for his debut?

Are you excited to see Keith Lee perform in NXT?
