An appearance for John Cena at “Survivor Series” is still a possibility, but he’d just be absent from WWE television again for another four to six weeks. We aren’t expecting to see Cena again on WWE television until January to get ready for the “Royal Rumble.”

There have been a few reports about what WWE is planning for Cena when he does return to WWE. He’s been rumored to be continuing the feud with AJ Styles or starting a feud with Baron Corbin, or even The Undertaker for Wrestlemania 33 in April.

We don’t know what WWE has planned for the fifteen time WWE World Champion for his return, but we now have a clear date for his first night back inside a WWE ring.

According to a report from WrestlingNewsSource.com, Cena will be competing in a triple threat match against Dean Ambrose and AJ Styles for the WWE World title at Madison Square Garden on December 26th.

For what it’s worth, Styles is still listed as the WWE Champion. However, it seems that the night after Christmas will be John Cena’s first night back in the ring. That is also a Monday night, so it’s possible Cena will return to SmackDown the next night.
