It’s been a curious few months for James Storm. Back in June, Storm’s contract expired with TNA, and he finished his feud with Magnus at Slammiversary. However, he continued to make appearances for the company until September. He participated, but lost in the TNA World Title Series that will conclude this week.

But then, James Storm was heavily rumored to be WWE bound. The rumors had Storm becoming a trainer for NXT and a part-time performer. A deal was never officially announced, but he appeared on NXT during two different tapings to win singles matches against Danny Burch and Adam Rose.

It appears that the former TNA World Champion was only in NXT for a cup of coffee because the rumors now have him making his return to TNA later this week during the tapings in Bethlehem, PA.

According to PWInsider, Storm could be returning as early as tomorrow night’s Impact, which will be the show’s debut on Pop TV. As per the rumors, he’s expected at all of TNA’s TV tapings this week, which includes the “One Night Only” tapings.

There is no news on why a deal with WWE fell through. It could have been a consequence of Bill Gunn’s firing after failing a drug test. Of course, he could just feel more comfortable in TNA than in NXT or WWE.
