It’s been almost a year since Hideo Itami injured his shoulder. The year that Itami has missed has been the biggest and best in the brand history, but it would have found a way to be even better with Itami’s involvement.

The last we heard of Hideo, he had suffered some serious setbacks with his shoulder recovery and had no timetable for a return to NXT. Unfortunately, nothing has changed, but we’re much closer to that date.

When Hideo went down with his shoulder injury last May, the original timetable was between six to eight months. As you are aware, that timeframe has been extended significantly.

The fact is that NXT could certainly use Itami’s talent, especially now that the brand has changed so much over the last month. Unfortunately, we can only speculate on when he will return to the ring, but there is a small tidbit of information on when that may be.

According to WrestlingNews.co, there is no news on Hideo Itami’s recovery other than a quick tweet from Hideo that you can read below:

The amount of fresh matchups for Itami when he returns to the ring are staggering. On paper, we’ve got Hideo Itami vs. Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, Austin Aries, Shinsuke Nakamura, and more. NXT is no doubt going to get much more interesting with Hideo around.

What match do you want to see Hideo Itami in when he returns?
