The “Intellectual Savior to the Masses” was wearing the clothes of his old character wearing a robe and all. Before the match, Sandow cut a heel promo before. Apparently, the live crowd was not amused at the show.
The crowd told WWE to push Damien Sandow to the moon, but WWE thought that meant giving him a huge face turn and then making him lose the Andre The Giant Battle Royal to The Big Show. Sandow hasn’t had much momentum ever since Wrestlemania 31.
The first story we’ve heard from him since the end of his partnership with Curtis Axel is that he won a dark match for the Tuesday’s taping of “Main Event.” It’s not even Smackdown’s dark match. Sandow could be doing more good as a heel on NXT or Smackdown.
The fact that the crowd didn’t like his “Intellectual Savior of the Masses” gimmick is not a good sign of the future for Sandow.
