Most of the WWE Universe would argue Becky Lynch has been a babyface in the rivalry with Charlotte Flair since Summerslam. This aggressive and confident Lass Kicker is the character that most fans have been looking for on SmackDown Live. She’s relatable in a lot of ways and WWE officials can only hold off on Becky’s babyface turn for so long.
According to a report from Rajah, WWE will turn the SmackDown Women’s Champion babyface sooner rather than later. The problem is balancing the roster and that means a heel turn for Charlotte Flair down the line. There have been some rumors of a double turn, but those are difficult to book in a situation where the fans are cheering the heel.
WWE officials are planning to keep Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair going to quite some time, but eventually, the rivalry will have to come to an end. If Becky is the babyface by the end of their feud, she’ll most likely keep the SmackDown Women’s Title. If that’s the case, WWE will make some moves when the time comes heading into WrestleMania 35.
One idea is to turn Asuka heel over the coming months to feud with Becky Lynch after the rivalry with Charlotte is over. The Empress of Tomorrow could find new life as the adversary to The Lass Kicker. Asuka vs. Becky could be a huge rivalry heading into the Royal Rumble or even WrestleMania. A lot of it depends on how WWE books Lynch.
Whatever WWE officials have planned for the women’s division on SmackDown Live, it is clear that Becky Lynch will be a part of it. She’s on the cusp of doing something bigger on WWE television. WWE officials would be smart to run with it as long as possible.
Do you think Becky Lynch would work better as a babyface or the heel she is now?
