WWE has already announced the signing of former IWGP Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and announced that his debut on WWE programming will be at NXT Takeover: Dallas against Sami Zayn.

That will be an awesome match, but there is always the what if scenario. Nakamura was already reported to the WWE Performance Center last week and underwent the necessary medical testing in Pittsburgh. There has been no word on how those tests went as of now.

The fact that we haven’t heard anything is most likely a good sign, but there have been instances where signed talents will fail medical tests and be released shortly after. That’s what happened with Willie Mack and Nigel McGuninness in the past.

If for whatever reason, Nakamura were to fail the medical tests, it’s most likely that WWE would bring him in for NXT Takeover: Dallas as a one time deal since the company has already made the announcement.

In that scenario, it’s most likely that Sami Zayn would defeat him, and that would be that. However, WWE feels extremely confident that everything will be fine, and Shinsuke Nakamura will become a top star for the NXT brand and move up to the main roster sooner rather than later.
