Tonight is NXT Takeover: London. Fortunately for us over in the United States, the time difference allows us to see the event in the middle of the afternoon. We just had “TLC”, the Monday Night Raw of the year, and now we get the final Takeover special of 2015. It’s like WWE gave us Christmas a year early.

The official NXT Takeover: London is as follows:

WWE NXT Title Match: Samoa Joe vs. Finn Balor (c)

WWE NXT Women’s Title Match: Nia Jax vs. Bayley (c)

WWE NXT Tag Team Titles Match: Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady vs. Dash and Dawson (c)

Apollo Crews vs. Baron Corbin

Asuka vs. Emma

The NXT Championship match between Finn Balor and Samoa Joe is the most interesting for me because a title change would have a significant impact on NXT.

I’m not saying Nia Jax winning the NXT Women’s Championship from Bayley wouldn’t change the game. It’s just that Balor vs. Joe has been building for much longer, and a title change would drastically change both men’s momentum going into 2016.

First in foremost, Samoa Joe deserves to be NXT Champion. His heel turn was totally justified for a number of reasons. Together, Balor and Joe won the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Amidst the rumors that Joe would turn on Balor, he stayed true to his partner and led them to victory.

I say led because, in the semifinals of the tournament, Balor was “injured” in the match with Dash and Dawson, but Joe helped carry him through the finals against Baron Corbin and Rhyno. He didn’t make a big deal out of it, but he was a good partner, and that’s what you’re supposed to do.

However, the only thing Joe asked for was a fair match for the NXT Championship, but NXT General Manager William Regal insisted that Joe was put in the Battle Royal along with everyone else.

He would go on to lose that match when it should have been Balor that stood up for his partner and given him a shot. Not to mention, he’s Samoa Joe. He’s been one of the top wrestlers in the world for over a decade. The spot was his by reputation and by his performance in NXT. Joe is right and tonight, he may get his reward.

Samoa Joe Promoted For Non-WWE Summer Events

In my opinion, Samoa Joe wins the NXT Championship today. He’s been killing Balor for over a month now, and has choked him out several times in a fair fight, and using heel tactics. It would make Joe look weaker if he lost.

Not only that, but Balor has been champion since July. Joe opens up a realm of possibilities for great feuds. For example, Sami Zayn has been wrestling and is returning to NXT programming either tonight or next week. Joe vs. Zayn would be a great feud to see. Apollo Crews is most likely

Apollo Crews is probably getting the win over Corbin tonight as well. Crews vs. Joe is another interesting feud for Joe. Hideo Itami is ready to return very soon. There is a lot of talent in NXT that could use a mega heel of which to feud.

Most importantly, Joe deserves to be a WWE World Champion. It would be an insult to see a wrestler of his talent never get that stamp of approval, especially because he only wants to help build the NXT brand.

The best way for him to do that is to become NXT Champion tonight.
