Many inside WWE are lobbying for Sasha Banks v Charlotte to main event Hell In A Cell, but one person isn’t sold on the idea: Vince McMahon.

It’s being said Triple H is in favor of the creative team’s wishes to have Banks and Charlotte close the show, but according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via Wrestlezone) McMahon is against the idea, and him ‘digging his heels in’ has frustrated those backstage.

Says an unnamed backstage source: “And what everyone needs to understand is that there’s no one who understands the outside less than the man who makes all the decisions. We just have to find a respectful way to change his mind.”

As of Tuesday, the chances of the two women main eventing were zero. That said, McMahon is known for changing his mind last-minute. There’s also the chance this story is out there to mislead fans into thinking it won’t happen so when it does, it’s a surprise. Wrestling, eh?

Another point in favor is Hell In A Cell takes place in Banks’ backyard, so if there’s ever a crowd that’ll accept it, this is the one.

Banks taking on Charlotte is part of a triple main event for this Sunday’s PPV. But to paraphrase CM Punk, we all know there’s no such thing as a triple main event. There is one: The one that closes the show.
