It would be a surprise. The main event of WrestleMania is always going to be one of the biggest matches of the year if not the absolute biggest. It is often the most hyped up match of the year and on occasion it can be the best. However, as Kevin Owens once said, if you cannot go on last, you want to go on first. The opening match of WrestleMania can be a big deal in its own right, and now this year’s could be a special one.

We are less than a week away from WrestleMania 37 and that means almost everything has come together. The biggest stories of the show will be centered around title matches, as tends to be the case most years. One of the show’s two main event has already been set, but now we might be able to write off a possibility for the other main event and you might be surprised.

According to Wrestling Observer Live, there is a chance that Drew McIntyre vs. Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship could open the first night of WrestleMania 37. No match has been confirmed for the main event spot on the show and there have been reports of Bianca Belair vs. Sasha Banks for the SmackDown Women’s Title closing the show instead. The main event for night two will be Universal Champion Roman Reigns defending against Edge and Daniel Bryan.

The match has been set up. Check out how we got here:

King Corbin joins Bobby Lashley in the fight against Drew McIntyre: Raw, Mar. 29, 2021

Opinion: This is something that could certainly be interesting and not unprecedented, as Seth Rollins challenging Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title opened WrestleMania 35. I’m not sure if they are going to do the same thing here, but it would be a different way to go. It would be a great way to get things going for the night and quite the surprise as well. Just find something that works and go with it.
