Get your tickets soon? One of the major draws to this year’s WrestleMania 37 was the return of live fans to a WWE event. The company had not been able to have any significant number of fans in attendance for over a year so having them back in place was a huge upgrade. It seems that their next show with fans will be Summerslam in August, and now we might have a better idea about where things are going.
According to PWInsider.com, WWE is considering running Summerslam in either Phoenix, Arizona or somewhere in Texas. Should this take place, and assuming WWE does not leave Florida before then, this would be the first WWE event outside of Florida since March 2020. The show taking place elsewhere is dependent on the Coronavirus pandemic and the amount of cases between now and August. WWE President Nick Khan had previously said that WWE would be returning to the road when they could full time, though there is no word on if that will be the case starting with Summerslam.
Opinion: I hope that this leads to fans being back in the stadium or arena for a show, but you never can tell at this point. What ultimately matters is the health and safety of the wrestlers and fans, so if WWE can figure out a way to make it work, they could easily sell out an arena at least. Getting back on the road should help WWE a lot, though we might be a long way off from doing so.
