It’s a nicer schedule. There are a lot of ways to get into wrestling and one of them is to have a solid background in another sport. It shows that someone has an athletic background and the wrestling promotion knows how to work with someone who has already gotten their foot in the wrestling door. That is often the case in WWE and it seems like it is going to be the case again.

Every now and then, you see an athlete with so much personality and charisma that they would be perfect for wrestling. If they happen to be a professional athlete, they are probably going to be in good shape as a bonus. With all of those boxes checked, it makes sense to see what kind of interest there is from a wrestling company to see what they can do. Now we know the next big athlete jumping into the ring.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, former NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski, who has recently signed with WWE, will not be having a match at WrestleMania but is likely to be there in some capacity. This is assuming that WrestleMania actually takes place, as it is not clear that the show will still happen. Gronkowski is expected to wrestle as a special attraction in WWE, though it is not clear when he will make his debut.

Gronkowski has appeared in wrestling before. Check out what he did in WWE:

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that makes sense for WWE as Gronkowski could get some attention and will likely get WWE on ESPN for a bit. Gronkowski is a known WWE fan and someone who can go out there and do some rather athletic stuff. He doesn’t need to be some top star out there but as long as he isn’t a complete disaster, everything should wind up being fine.

How do you see Gronkowski doing in WWE? Who is your favorite football player turned wrestler? Let us know in the comments below.
