That’s a tall order. Nostalgia is one of the most powerful forces in wrestling, as it allows a wrestling fan to remember the good old days when things were better. Or maybe they just remember it that way. There is always going to be something from the past that you remember in a better way, and now one of the most important names in WWE is trying to challenge things a bit.

There may never be a bigger rivalry in WWE than that of Steve Austin vs. The Rock. The two had some of the most amazing natural chemistry and went on to have some absolutely incredible matches. That is the kind of thing you don’t get to see very often in wrestling and there is a reason why the rivalry is so revered. Now though, WWE might have a new version in mind.

According to Sportskeeda.com, WWE COO Triple H took part in a WWE panel at the New York City Comic Con and mentioned that he feeling Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre could be the next Austin vs. Rock or Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair feud. As a result, he does not want McIntyre vs. Reigns to take place again anytime soon. The two are the current reigning WWE (McIntyre) and Universal (Reigns) Champions and they did meet at WrestleMania 35, with Reigns winning.

That’s some high praise. Check out all three feuds:

Opinion: Those are some incredibly high standards to live up to and I’m not sure how possible it is to have someone reach that level. Austin vs. Rock is something that can never be replicated but you could see two people having a heck of a rivalry that feels epic. Reigns and McIntyre could make it work, but I’m not sure how high they could take it even under the best circumstances.
