Who are you again? There are a lot of wrestlers on the WWE roster and some of them are a little more well known than others. Some names have not yet had the chance to make the same kind of impact that others have made but they have plenty of time to do so. One thing that helps is getting familiar with them, but that might be a little tricky if someone’s name is changed. That could be the case with a newer star, at least in a way.
Earlier this year, Rey Mysterio’s son Dominick became a full time wrestler, which has had some hit and miss results. It is clear that Dominick is a well trained wrestler who looks like a natural in the ring, but he has been part of a story with Seth Rollins which has not been as well received. WWE might be wanting to make a change with him though and it could be a little confusing.
According to PWInsider.com, WWE has filed a trademark application for “Dominick” for a wrestling name. While not confirmed, this could suggest that WWE is intending to shorten Dominick’s name from “Dominick Mysterio” to just “Dominick”. WWE has a history of shortening names before, with names such as Antonio Cesaro, Big E. Langston, Mustafa Ali and Alexander Rusev losing their first or last names.
Dominick has looked good under whatever name. Check out what he can do at such a young age:
Opinion: I can’t say I’m surprised by something like this and it might not be the worst move. As polished as Dominick is so far, it could be a nice idea to have him get away from his family name. There is only so much that can be done when your name is tied to your far more famous father so maybe it could help a bit to have him be more of himself than Rey’s son.
Should his name be changed? How has Dominick done so far? Let us know in the comments below.
