That’s quite the honor. Wrestlers are known for winning championships, but one of the problems is that eventually most of those championships are lost. A wrestler is known as a former champion, but that is not exactly the same thing as continuing to hold a title. There are some titles that last forever though, and now a WWE star has won another one of those, albeit in a different kind of wrestling.

WWE’s Gable Steveson has won the Danny Hodge Trophy, given to the NCAA’s top wrestler. Steveson becomes the first heavyweight to win the awards twice, having won it last season as well. He also won the NCAA Heavyweight Championship for the second year in a row and is expected to make his WWE debut at some point in the near future, having signed with the company after winning an Olympic gold medal last year.

Opinion: That is some impressive work as Steveson is looking like one of the best amateur wrestlers in NCAA history. WWE was smart to get him signed as fast as they could, as that is the kind of talent you do not see coming around very often. Anytime you can have someone compared to Kurt Angle, things are looking up, and that is always something WWE could use.

What do you think of Steveson? What would you like to see him do in WWE? Let us know in the comments below.
