It’s as good a time as any. Wrestling has kind of been put on hold at the moment, or at least things have slowed way down in a hurry. There are only so many spots available on the main WWE television shows due to all of the changes taking place in a hurry and that is the kind of thing that can make for some surprise moves. In this case, one of those moves is not as positive as others.

Injuries can take someone down at any given point in their career and there isn’t much that can be done about them. At some point, everyone is going to get hurt and there is no way around it. Some of these things are a lot worse than others as you never know how long they are going to be on the shelf as a result. That was the case with a surprise injury earlier this month and now someone is going on the shelf for a good while.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rezar of the AOP is has undergone surgery to repair his torn bicep. The estimated recovery time for such an injury is six to eight months, which would put him back in the ring around late September at the earliest. The injury took place during the main event of the March 9It episode of Monday Night Raw during an eight man tag match. There is no word on what will happen to Rezar’s partner Akam as a result.

It was an intense match. Check out the match that caused the injury:

Opinion: I’m not sure what this is going to mean for the team but the AOP really does seem to be a bit cursed at times. That’s the kind of thing that is going to derail just about anyone as the injury comes from out of nowhere and puts them on the shelf for such a long time. Hopefully Akam’s career isn’t wrecked at the same time, as it isn’t fair to punish him because his partner got hurt.

What will this mean for the AOP? Will Akam do something while Rezar is recovering? Let us know in the comments below.
