He may not be done yet. A debut is one of the most important parts of a wrestler’s career. If they do not come in hot, or at least respectable, it could make for a horrible problem to their career. WWE has a rather hit and miss history with this sort of thing and that was the case again last week. Now it seems that we might not be all the way to the end, and there may still be a chance.

According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast, WWE has a planned direction for Karrion Kross and the loss in his debut was only the start of the angle. There is no word on where the angle is expected to go, though Hardy tested positive for the Coronavirus in the last few days, meaning that he will be forced to quarantine for two weeks. It is not clear if the angle will continue as Hardy quarantines.

Kross is the reigning NXT Champion and the loss to Hardy was his first pinfall defeat at any level in WWE. The loss was not mentioned during Kross’ appearance the following night on NXT, though his appearance on Monday Night Raw was mentioned. It is not clear if Kross will be regularly appearing on both shows going forward. Kross has not yet been advertised for this week’s Monday Night Raw.

There are better days. Check out Kross’ better time in NXT:

Karrion Kross vs. Johnny Gargano – NXT Title Match: WWE NXT, July 13, 2021

Damian Priest vs. Karrion Kross w/Scarlett: NXT New Year’s Evil, Jan. 6, 2021

Santos Escobar vs. Karrion Kross – No Disqualification Non-Title Match: WWE NXT, Feb. 24, 2021

Opinion: I would certainly hope that something is going to change for Kross as there was very little to cheer for last week. Hardy beat him and even though he cheated to get the win, it was Kross getting pinned in his Monday Night Raw debut in less than two minutes. That is the part that fans are going to remember, even if Kross winds up massacring Hardy in their rematches. WWE can salvage things, but it might have been better if they didn’t have to in the first place.
