That’s not quite praise. It can be difficult for a wrestler to make their mark in WWE. With so many talented stars around, several people are trying to earn very few spots. There will always be people who are seen as bigger stars then others, but occasionally the fans and WWE itself will have very different views on who is what. That was apparently the situation again earlier this week.

The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw the Judgment Day defeat Sami Zayn/Kevin Owens/Seth Rollins in a six man tag when Balor pinned Zayn. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the decision makers in WWE do not feel that is a problem to have Zayn lose because “they always saw Zayn as just a guy, who got over on a fluke.” Zayn and Owens are still the reigning WWE Tag Team Champions.
That’s quite the fluke. Check out Zayn in action:
Opinion: It’s a very hard concept to fathom that Zayn, who was as popular as anyone else in WWE earlier this year, is nothing more than a fluke. It takes talent to get that far and Zayn has more of it than he knows what to do with most of the time. I can accept Zayn as someone who can absorb a loss, but that’s not the same thing as being someone who lucked their way into their current spot.
