They’re valuable. Despite some recent problems, WWE is still the biggest and most powerful wrestling promotion in the world and it really isn’t that much of a competition. The company has been on top of the wrestling world for such a long time now and that has allowed them to build up quite the reputation. Now we know a bit more about how strong that reputation has become.

SportsPro, a sports marketing firm, has released a list of the fifty most marketable sports properties in the world, with WWE coming in at #20. This puts them ahead of the UFC (#27) and the NFL (#37) and ahead of all American entries, save for the NBA and the Los Angeles Lakers. WWE has sent out a tweet celebrating the accomplishment, which was determined by a survey of over 360,000 people between the ages of 13 and 64 worldwide. There were over 500 teams, organizations and events in the survey.

WWE has a lot to brag about. Check out some of its biggest pieces:

Opinion: I know WWE might have a lot of things to criticize, but they have also done enough to dominate their industry. They know how to market themselves and the strides they have made are rather impressive. To be on national TV multiple times a week across multiple networks is impressive enough and doesn’t even begin to touch on their international impact. That is worth recognition and it is nice to see it when it happens.
