They seem to be impressed. WWE has been around for a very long time and it means a lot to be one of the company’s featured stars. If you are one of the focal points of WWE, it suggests that you are going to be a major player in the wrestling industry and that means your face is going to be seen in a lot of places. That was the case again this week and the face might have been a surprise.
This weekend, the United States Football League returned after a nearly forty year absence. The broadcast of at least one game included an advertisement for WWE Monday Night Raw and SmackDown. While the SmackDown side of the graphic featured Roman Reigns, the Monday Night Raw side featured Cody Rhodes. This comes after Rhodes returned to the company less than a month ago at WrestleMania 38 and suggests that Rhodes will be a featured star both on Monday Night Raw and on WWE programming in general.

Opinion: This is quite the surprise and I’m not sure what it is going to mean for WWE’s future. At the end of the day, it says a lot about the company that the biggest star on their flagship show is someone who has been back for about two weeks. Rhodes is someone who has become a bigger star while he was gone, but the high point of his WWE career has been a pair of Intercontinental Title reigns. Maybe this will be a surprising result, and it certainly seems that WWE is hoping for one.
What do you think of Rhodes? How will he do as the face of Monday Night Raw? Let us know in the comments below.
