Not so slowly. Titles are the easiest way in the world to advance a wrestling feud. You don’t need any kind of a personal issue or anything elaborate. All you have to do is put a championship belt on the line and everything else will fall into place. That is what WWE is planning on doing, but we might be seeing the title match take place sooner than previously expected.

Bobby Lashley won the United States Title back in August at Payback and has had very little trouble retaining the title ever since. Lashley is quite the physical monster and it is going to take a special effort to take the title off of him. That does not mean it is an impossible to do and there are several people who would love a hot. One of them may be getting that shot pretty soon.

According to Fightful Select, WWE is considering moving Lashley’s planned United States Title defense against Riddle to an earlier date. While the match has yet to be announced, it has been expected to take place at the Royal Rumble in January. However, WWE may move the match up to an earlier date before the January 31 pay per view. Lashley is already confirmed for the Royal Rumble match, though there is a chance that he could wrestle twice in one night. There is no word on when the match will take place or why it will be changed.

They both seem ready. Check out what the two have been doing to get ready:

Opinion: This is the kind of match that makes all the sense in the world and I could go for having it take place before the pay per view. Both of them could be put into the Royal Rumble match itself and there is not much need to have them wrestle twice. Lashley vs. Riddle could be a heck of a match, but they need to have it at the right time. Making it a big match on Monday Night Raw sounds like it could work rather well.
