You kind of have to. Wrestling is a sport that consists of people moving in and out in a hurry. A lot of people do not last long, but there are others who are around for decades. Then you have the ultra rare ones who make it forever and manage to stay relevant the entire time. Those are not the kind of people you see very often and it makes them all the more impressive. Next month, one such wrestler is going to be celebrates, as he has to be.
Back at the 1990 Survivor Series, the Undertaker made his debut and changed the company in a hurry. You could hear the crowd just go silent when he appeared because they had never seen anything like him. As great as the debut was, Undertaker’s career was even greater, as he would go on to dominate the company for decades on end, winning multiple World Titles and having the greatest Streak in WrestleMania history. That was almost thirty years ago, and that sounds like grounds for a celebration.
WWE has announced that Survivor Series 2020 on November 22 will be a tribute to the Undertaker, with the subtitle being Undertaker: 30. The show’s details are yet to be announced, but it will come during the previously announced Thirty Days Of The Dead Man, which will feature various documentaries and features on Undertaker. He is likely to appear at the show as well, after announcing his in-ring retirement earlier in the year.
Oh I think he’s earned it. Check out some of Undertaker’s amazing career:
Opinion: I’m not sure what this is going to entail, but like it could have been anything else. This is the kind of thing that you absolutely have to do for Undertaker, who got his start at this show three decades ago. You don’t see anyone else with that kind of longevity and Undertaker remained a big deal for most of that time. Let him have whatever tribute he wants, because he has more than earned it.
