Here’s where we’re going. WWE’s pay per view calendar is starting to wrap up and that means we don’t need many more main events before we get out of the year. One of the tendencies of the December pay per view is to have a one off World Title match rather than something that has been built up over time. That might be the case again with this year’s event.

Last week on Monday Night Raw, Drew McIntyre regained the WWE Championship by defeating Randy Orton, who had taken the title from him back at Hell In A Cell. Orton vs. McIntyre has taken place since all the way back in August and now it is time for something new. While WWE has not yet announced the match, we might be in for something new next month.

According to F4WOnline.com, the current plan for the main event of Tables, Ladders And Chairs would see Braun Strowman challenging McIntyre for the WWE Championship. It is not clear how WWE will set the match up, as Strowman did not qualify for next week’s triple threat #1 contenders match and did not even participate in one of the qualifying matches. Tables, Ladders And Chairs takes place on December 20.

The two have fought before. Check out what they can do against each other:

Opinion: This should work out fine as there is only so much that you can do with McIntyre vs. Orton so it is time for someone fresh. Strowman is not likely to be anything more than a one off challenger and this is about as good of an idea as you can get. Hopefully the match works as well as it could, as McIntyre fighting a giant is something he does not get to do very often, or at least one who is bigger than him.
