It couldn’t hurt. I don’t think I’m breaking any ground to say that Monday Night Raw’s audience and ratings have not exactly been the best as of late. They were the worst of all time during last week’s show and that would suggest that something needs to change. WWE seems to understand that something needs to change, and now we have an idea of what they could be doing.

It can be hard to pinpoint down the exactly problem with the show, but you could probably point to the creative department for a lot of the issues. At the end of the day, there are some not so great stories taking place on television and while Vince McMahon has final say, the writers are the one who are going to come up with the ideas or tweak them for McMahon’s approval. Maybe a change of pace on the writing team could help, and WWE is taking their chance.

WWE has posted a new job opening on LinkedIn.com, advertising for a job as a lead writer. The job requires at least five years of television or film writing, experience working in live television and knowledge of WWE wrestlers and programming. There is no word on if anyone was let go from the creative team to make this spot available, or which show the writer would be working on.

Opinion: I know it sounds like a good idea, but is this going to make much of a difference with McMahon running everything? It isn’t going to matter who is on the writing team as long as McMahon has the final say on the stories, especially if whatever the creative team has written is thrown out on the day of the show. I’m not sure what difference it is going to make but at least there might be some slightly fresh blood in there.

Will this make a difference? What is the best chance WWE could make? Let us know in the comments below.
