Can you blame them? We are less than two months away from WWE finally returning to the road, meaning live fans being in attendance for their television broadcasts. That is a major change after not having any significant amount of fans in attendance since March 2020. It is the change that the company has been waiting to see, so how is the locker room feeling about the move?

According to PWInsider.com, the WWE locker room is very excited over the idea of returning to the road. In addition to getting out of Florida, the wrestlers are hoping to see a bump in merchandise sales, especially from the Money in the Bank pay per view. The first show back with fans in attendance will be the July 16 SmackDown, taking place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

WWE has not run a live event with a full house of fans since the March 9, 2020 edition of Monday Night Raw. Since then, the television shows have taken place in a combination of the WWE Performance Center, Full Sail University/Capitol Wrestling Center and a variety of venues named the ThunderDome. WrestleMania 37 was held at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida with a limited capacity of fans.

Having fans back can change a lot. Check out what fans mean for a show:

Opinion: I don’t think it’s exactly a surprise to hear that the wrestlers are happy to be back in front of fans, though the financial aspect of it is a detail that has not gotten a ton of attention. I’m curious to see how strong the crowds are after a few weeks, as the initial shows should do rather well. WWE needs to improve things a bit though and that might be easier said than done.
