A bit of a different direction. WWE is known for its merchandising opportunities, including nearly every kind of action figure you can imagine (Owen Hart as a soldier and figures that sweat come to mind). Now though, they’re going in a slightly different way to target a different demographic.

Sasha Banks and Bayley play with their new WWE Superstars dolls

WWE.com has announced a new line of products aimed at younger girls. This line will feature a variety of options, including fashion dolls released by Mattel, including Nikki and Brie Bella, Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, regular action figures of the women’s division, title belts and items like Bayley’s headbands. The line will be available exclusively at Toys R Us in September.

Opinion: Anytime WWE can do something with a company as big as Mattel, it’s a positive sign for WWE. That kind of association brings them not only money but a lot of prestige as well. It’s also the kind of thing that gets you into places like Wal-Mart (not these as they’re exclusive to Toys R Us but others are already there), which exposes you to a far larger audience than you have at specialty shops. Good for WWE.
