You have to hang it up sometime. Believe it or not, wrestlers are normal people just like you and me. They go to the ring, they talk on the mic, they do their job and one day, they retire. It happens to almost every wrestler at some point, though it might take more time for some than others. That is the case with the top wrestlers of all time as well, and that is the case with a top star today.

There will never be another team like the Dudley Boyz. Bubba Ray and D-Von are one of the most successful tag teams in history, with World Tag Team Title reigns in almost every major promotion and even a good deal of minor ones as well. They won so many titles that it was hard to keep track of how many they picked up in every company, but at some point they had to step aside. One of them did that for good.

D-Von Dudley has officially announced his retirement on the latest edition of his Table Talk podcast. This comes nearly three and a half years since his last match, which took place December 17, 2016. D-Von has been wrestling since 1992 and began teaming with Bubba Ray in 1996. The team won 23 major Tag Team Titles in ECW, New Japan, WCW (as part of the Alliance), WWE and Impact Wrestling. They were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018 and D-Von has been a producer for WWE since September 2016.

D-Von had a heck of a career. Check out some of his work in the ring:

Opinion: This might not be the biggest surprise in the world as it has been a long time since D-Von was in the ring. He seems to have found a good second career as a producer and hopefully he can do that for as long as he wants to. The kind of experience and knowledge that he has could do the company a lot of good and if WWE is smart, they will listen to him.
