Start printing the posters. Celebrities have been a part of the wrestling world for decades and that is never going to change. Wrestling exists in its own little bubble and it can be very fun to see someone come inside the other world. That can be the case with someone having something to say or getting into the ring, but in this case it looks like it is going to be both.
Over the last few weeks, NXT star Adam Cole and sports podcaster Pat McAfee have been having quite the feud. Cole appeared on McAfee’s podcast, during which McAfee called Cole short. This sent Cole over the edge, to the point where he destroyed part of McAfee’s set. McAfee later appeared on NXT during this week’s show and punted Cole in the head. I think you know where this is going.
WWE has confirmed that Cole will face McAfee at NXT Takeover: XXX on Saturday, August 22. This comes after Triple H had spoken about a potential match between the two. The match will be McAfee’s first match with WWE, though he has wrestled on the independent circuit before, albeit over ten years ago. There is no word on if McAfee will be wrestling again after this.

It was a big showdown. Check out how we got here:
Opinion: This is something you had to know was coming and McAfee does know how to get under someone’s skin. That being said, it is a little strange to see Cole being treated as the good guy in the feud after he has been the top heel in NXT for so long. I’m curious to see how it could go, as McAfee was a professional athlete and that punt alone could be quite the threat.
