A different way to go. We are less than five weeks away from WrestleMania 39 and the show is looking like it could be something special. There have been several major matches announced and those numbers will likely grow as we get closer to the event. WWE has been working on the card for a long time, and now we know how some of the originally planned matches have been altered.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He’s In: Speculation Over WWE Storyline Changing Due To New Name Being Introduced
Fightful Select is reporting that WWE has changed the original plans for the Raw Women’s Title match at WrestleMania 39. The original plan called for Charlotte to return on Monday Night Raw and challenge Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Title. However, Ronda Rousey decided to take January off from WWE, resulting in Charlotte defeating her for the title on the December 30 SmackDown. Asuka was moved into the Raw Women’s Title slot while Rhea Ripley will challenge Charlotte. There is no word on what the original plan was for the SmackDown Women’s Title, but there is nothing to indicate that Belair vs. Ripley was ever considered.

Opinion: This was quite the turnaround for the title picture and it might have been in a good way. The Asuka vs. Belair match has potential, but Ripley could get one heck of a huge push by defeating Charlotte on the grandest stage of them all. That is the kind of thing that could give the division a new top star and Ripley has shown that she is ready for that kind of spot.
