It’s back. There are all kinds of events on the WWE scheduled and some of them have been around for a very long time. On the other hand, there are a few that pop up on the schedule every so often, seemingly at random. Some of these shows have quite the history of their own, and now one of them will be making its return after a few years worth of a hiatus.

WWE has announced that Payback will be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday September 2. This will be the first time that Payback has been presented since 2020 and the seventh event overall. The show will be held over Labor Day weekend, which is traditionally when AEW holds its All Out event. This year’s edition has yet to be announced, though AEW will present All In the week before in London, England.

Opinion: This is the kind of show that I like every so often, as it is nice to have some generic events every so often. Instead of having a show build around a major match or some kind of concept, Payback sounds much more like a basic show and that is not a bad idea. Hopefully the show winds up being a big deal, as there have been some big moments in Payback history before.
