Do It Again: WWE Bringing Back Raw Underground (Yes Really)

They’re doing that again? There are all kinds of wrestling matches that can be presented to continue a feud. Often a regular match or two just isn’t enough and at some point, the feud needs a little more. These are often going to be leaning more favorably to one of the wrestlers, which seems to be the case again, though this particular version has quite the wildcard included.

Over the last few weeks, Eddy Thorpe has defeated Damon Kemp in a pair of matches, though both involved controversial finishes. Thorpe offered to let Kemp pick the stipulation for their third match, with Kemp picking Raw Underground this week. This means a match with no ring ropes and victory coming through knockout, TKO or submission. Following the announcement, Kemp’s brother Gable Steveson appeared and offered to help Thorpe prepare for the match.

Opinion: I’m not sure how well this is going to work, but it is certainly a surprise that I would not have expected. What matters the most is finding a way to elevate the feud, and having someone with Kemp’s background should make the match that much better. That being said, Raw Underground was not exactly well received to start, but maybe this version will be an improvement.
