Over There? Why Some In WWE Believe Edge Could Be AEW Bound

Moving on? AEW has added in a brand new world to the wrestling industry and it has changed the way everything works. Rather than WWE being the only major game in town, AEW now offers wrestlers another place to go. That is the kind of thing that opens several new doors and now a WWE Hall Of Famer might be walking from one door into another, at least depending on who you ask.

Last week on SmackDown, Edge wrestled the last match of his WWE contract, which he described as his last match in his hometown of Toronto. According to PW Torch, there is a belief backstage in WWE that Edge will be heading to WWE when he is allowed to do so. Edge reportedly offered WWE terms on a new deal but they turned him down. AEW President Tony Khan is said to be a big fan of Edge and could offer Edge the terms he wants. It is not clear when Edge’s current WWE deal expires.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that could happen but I’m not sure how much I want it to. Edge going somewhere else does not exactly feel interesting but it seems that we might be seeing it happen. He had a nice run in WWE and I’m almost scared to know how AEW would use him over some other stars. Edge would automatically be pretty high up on the AEW ladder and that isn’t a great thing to see over and over.
