Stomp til you have to drop it? Seth Rollins has been on fire as of late and is one of the few true aces the company has these days. Rollins has been great for a long time, but his finisher has changed more than once. A few years back, WWE decided to ban the Stomp, only to have it come back later on. Now though, rumors are starting to stir about the move being banned again. Is that the case?

Last night on Monday Night Raw, Rollins used the superplex into the Falcon Arrow to defeat Dolph Ziggler instead of his usual Stomp. The sudden change of pace brought up some speculation about whether Rollins was going to change his finisher all over again. Rollins even addressed one of the rumors about the change on Twitter, flat out saying that it wasn’t the case:

In addition to this, Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live mentioned the rumors as well. Alvarez offered another explanation to the change: WWE is simply trying to get over another finisher instead of the Stomp. Since Rollins uses the Falcon Arrow in every match but never wins with it, the fans might not react to it as strongly. With Rollins winning using it for a single win, the move has credibility. Here are Alvarez’s comments, with transcription courtesy of Ringsidenews.com:

“They’re trying to get over another finish for him. He does the falcon arrow in every match. It never wins, people still go crazy for it. The fact that he won with it is gonna make it a hotter nearfall from now on.”

“So he went for the Curb Stomp twice in that match and didn’t get it, so it’s not like it’s gone.”

Last night’s match was a heck of a lot of fun. Check it out and see how over Rollins’ offense really was:

Opinion: I don’t think the Stomp being banned again was really a strong possibility, if nothing else due to Rollins trying to use it multiple times in the Ziggler match alone. Things have changed a bit since the move was banned in the first place and he’s used the move multiple times in recent weeks and months. If nothing else I hope it isn’t changed for the sake of messing with what has worked so well for Rollins as of late.

What do you think of Rollins using the Stomp? If he had to change, what should he switch to? Let us know in the comments below.
