It’s a big one. We are on the road to WrestleMania 37 and that means there are going to be a lot of extra eyes on WWE. With so many people watching the product, it would make sense to have something there to make more people interested in the show. That is easier said than done, but certainly not impossible. WWE is trying next week and we are getting a stacked card as a result.

One of the easiest ways to make a match or a feud seem important is to add a championship into the mix. Titles are something anyone can understand and with WWE having so many titles involved, it is not that hard to set up a title match on almost any given shows. That makes it feel big, so how much more important does a show seem when it has two title matches? We may find out next week.

This week on Monday Night Raw, WWE announced that next week’s episode will feature two title matches. First, the New Day will challenge Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander of the Hurt Business for the Raw Tag Team Titles. Second, Riddle will defend the United States Title against Mustafa Ali. This comes after both the WWE Title and the Women’s Tag Team Titles were defended on this week’s Monday Night Raw, with both champions retaining.

This should be big. Check out the previews of next week’s title matches and this week’s versions:

Xavier Woods vs. Shelton Benjamin: Raw, Mar. 8, 2021

Riddle vs. SLAPJACK: Raw, Mar. 8, 2021

Bobby Lashley vs. The Miz – WWE Championship Match: Raw, Mar. 8, 2021

Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler vs. Naomi & Lana – WWE Women’s Tag Team Title Match: Raw, Mar. 8, 2021

Opinion: It isn’t something you can do every single week, but having some title matches like this can make for some interesting television. That was the case this week and it should work next week as well, with the title matches announced in advance. That being said, Fastlane is in less than two weeks and Monday Night Raw does not have a match on the show yet. Maybe they should space these things out a bit better?
