I’d say he’s earned it. The WWE Network has done some great things for wrestling history as fans are now able to see all kinds of wrestling that they might have never seen before. This includes both the wrestling itself but also WWE’s rather impressive documentaries about various things that have taken place before. There will be several of them coming this week and they will have a theme.

There are starts in the wrestling world and then there is Steve Austin. In the history of wrestling, there are very few wrestlers anywhere close to Austin’s level and there may be no one bigger than him, at least in the modern era. Austin changed the way the wrestling world works and will be remembered for a long time to come. WWE is making sure that is the case.

WWE has announced Stone Cold Steve Austin Week starting on March 16, known as Steve Austin Day. There will be four specials on the WWE Network and Peacock on Austin, including two documentaries, a special collection of Austin’s best matches, and a new episode of Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions. WWE has done similar weeks before, including an Undertaker week back in November to celebrate Undertaker’s retirement.

Here is the schedule and a description of what is coming:

Meeting Stone Cold
Tuesday, March 16 on WWE Network
WWE Superstars and Legends recall their first impressions of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. The Undertaker, Ric Flair, Booker T and others recount a slew of unforgettable moments and memories they shared with Austin throughout the last 30 years.

Birth of the Stunner

The Best of WWE: Best of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin
Saturday, March 20 on Peacock and the Free Version of WWE Network

Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions: Randy Orton
Sunday, March 21 on Peacock and WWE Network
“Stone Cold” welcomes first-time guest Randy Orton to his acclaimed interview show. Nothing will be off-limits when The Viper and The Texas Rattlesnake sit down to talk about Orton’s legendary career.

There is something to find of his. Check out some of Austin’s best:

FULL MATCH- Steve Austin vs. Mr. McMahon & Shane McMahon – Ladder Match: WWE King of the Ring 1999

FULL MATCH: "Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs. Undertaker - WWE Title Match: SummerSlam 1998

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin's most destructive moments: WWE Top 10, March 11, 2020

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that is going to get some extra eyes on the WWE Network and Peacock as the service changes platforms. Austin is the kind of star who will draw some interest for nostalgia if nothing else and that is the kind of thing you can always use. Hopefully it drums up some interest and Austin is about as safe of a bet for an old school star to draw interest as you are going to get.
