It’s on deck. WWE is in a weird time thanks to the Coronavirus, which has changed the way the wrestling world works. The company has been able to keep things going with their mostly empty arena shows, but that isn’t exactly the best way to keep things moving. As the saying goes, the show must go on though and that is what we will be seeing next month as planned.

WWE has a long history of themed shows, but these days they are far more common than run of the mill shows. That may or may not be your cup of tea, but it is the case with a good portion of the WWE’s pay per views. It is becoming more and more rare for a show to not have a major theme and that will be the case with the company’s next pay per view offering.

During this Sunday’s Backlash, WWE announced that their next pay per view would be Extreme Rules, taking place on July 19. There was no reference to the location, though events that have had no location referenced have wound up in the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Extreme Rules was originally scheduled for the SAP Center in San Jose, California.

The show does have a history. Check out some of the better moments:

Opinion: You had to know that something like this was going to happen as WWE certainly likes to run this show over and over. Extreme Rules is an idea that is pretty simple in nature but just saying that the show is going to be all about extreme isn’t exactly thrilling. The show could be quite interesting, though you never know what you are going to see on something like this.
