That could change things a bit. We are on the way to one of the biggest weekends of the WWE year as WWE is gearing up for Summerslam. In addition to one of the biggest pay per view, we are also going to be getting NXT Takeover: XXX. That is going to be a major event and the card is going to become a big one. However, one of the major matches might not be the same.

During July’s Great American Bash, Keith Lee became the NXT Champion, ending Adam Cole’s record setting reign. It was a big moment for both Lee and NXT, but it also created a problem. Lee was still the North American Champion, so what was going to happen to that title? The problem was solved shortly thereafter, with Lee vacating the title and a series of triple threat matches being announced. The winners would move on to Takeover to fight for the vacant title. Two matches have already taken place, but now there might be some more work to do.

Following last week’s NXT, WWE issued their regular injury report from the show. Dexter Lumis, who won his qualifying match to gain a spot in the North American Title match, was said to have suffered an ankle injury. WWE has since updated his status, saying that the ankle injury is more severe than previously expected. While not confirmed, this may suggest that WWE is looking to make a change to the match.

That would be a big change. Check out what happened in the match and the injury report:

Opinion: Lumis is one of the more controversial stars in NXT as you will see a few different takes on him. That makes for some interesting discussions, though at the end of the day, he seems to be getting quite the push in NXT. However, this might be a sign that WWE is changing things up with him, as the injury could require him to be replaced. Given how close the numbers have been between NXT and AEW Dynamite, I can’t say I’m stunned at the possible change, should it actually happen.

Do you think Lumis will be replaced? Who do you want to see in the match? Let us know in the comments below.
