The tradition continues. We are almost up to WrestleMania weekend and you can start checking off some of the things that have to be done. There are several traditions that come with WrestleMania and now that the Coronavirus pandemic has started to change a bit, WWE can get back to normal. They are bringing back one major event, though not in its usual spot.
With so many people on the WWE roster, it can be quite the challenge to get them all on WrestleMania. Even with two nights for this year’s show, there are still limited spots available for anything that WWE might be trying to do. It can help to put a lot of people into one match, which is what they are planning to do again. This time around though, it just won’t be at WrestleMania.
The WWE on FOX Twitter account has announced that the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal will be returning this year, albeit on SmackDown for the first time. The match will take place on the April 9 episode, which will be the night before WrestleMania 37. This year’s edition of the battle royal will consist of at least twenty two entrants, with the following wrestlers announced:
Akira Tozawa
Angel Garza
Cedric Alexander
Drew Gulak
Elias
Erik
Gran Metalik
Humberto Carrillo
Jaxson Ryker
Jey Uso
Kalisto
King Corbin
Lince Dorado
MACE
Murphy
Mustafa Ali
Ricochet
Shelton Benjamin
Shinsuke Nakamura
SLAPJACK
T-Bar
Tucker

The battle royal has quite the history. Check out how it has gone in the past:
Opinion: This is one of those unique situations where I’m not sure what to think. The battle royal has become a WrestleMania tradition and while I’m glad to see it back, this is a little bit different than having it at WrestleMania. Throw in the fact that this is hardly the deepest field and I’m not sure how well something like this is going to go. It will work out fine, but it isn’t going to feel the same.
