I’d call it deserved. It is pretty rare to have someone be practically universally revered in wrestling. There are very few people who have almost nothing held against them and when you find someone who fits the description,, you know that they are something special. The wrestling world lost someone like that this week and now the world wants to say goodbye to him.

Beautiful Bobby Eaton passed away earlier this week at the age of 62. Eaton was most famous as a tag team wrestler, mainly for his time as part of the Midnight Express with Stan Lane and Dennis Condrey with Jim Cornette as their manager. He was also known as one of the kindest wrestlers in history as well as incredibly skilled in the ring. The wrestling world has since begun to pay tribute, including a statement by WWE.

Eaton will be remembered because he was great. Check out some of his time in the ring:

Bobby Eaton, Brown Sugar vs Jacques Rougeau, Terry Taylor (1-1-83) Memphis Wrestling

Opinion: This is a rough one as Eaton really was one of the best in-ring talents of all time. What makes things feel all the more special is how revered he is for his personality. You don’t get to hear something like that about too many people, either in the wrestling business or elsewhere. Eaton was an amazing wrestler both in and out of the ring and it is sad to see him gone.
