It’s a different motivation. Wrestlers are in a unique situation as they are definitely athletes who are trying to do the best that they can, but a good number of them are doing what they do for the financial impact wrestling can offer. While not everyone is going to reach that high paying level, it is a goal for many and now there is a special way to accomplish just that in a fairly uncommon way.
On March 31, WrestleCon will present the Mark Hitchcock Memorial WrestleCon Supershow. WrestleCon has tweeted out an announcement, saying that there will be a fan vote after the show to determine the best match on the show. The wrestlers involved in that match will then split $5,000. Five matches have been set for the card, with three more to take place on the show. Here is what is currently announced:
* Minoru Suzuki vs. Biff Busick
* The Briscoes (Jay & Mark Briscoe) vs. The Rottweilers (Low Ki & Homicide)
* Bandido vs. “Speedball” Mike Bailey
* Tomohiro Ishii vs. Timothy Thatcher
* Mia Yim vs. Athena
A crazy idea we had for years, we are finally going to test it out. We can create a great match on paper, but let's give the talent an extra incentive to bring their A+ game and steal the show. A live fan vote will decide which match out of the 8 gets an extra $5k pic.twitter.com/6h9wvz1w8E

Opinion: This is a cool concept and assuming it isn’t rigged in some way, it could be something very fun to see. The wrestlers are going to be working harder than ever for the sake of a real chance at some extra money and that could make for a fun show. The WrestleCon Supershow has a reputation of being good stuff in the first place and this should just make it better.
What do you think of the concept’? Which match interests you the most? Let us know in the comments below.
